Dance-Beat Ltd was formed in 1994 and is operated by Amanda Hughes. Amanda is a Fellow and Examiner for the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, one of the biggest professional dance bodies in the UK. She is also a Championship adjudicator for the A.D.F.P.

The School

Dance-Beat is the place to be if you want to dance for FUN, make new friends, to compete in championship competitions and perform in shows. The pupils attend once a week for fun classes, or have private lessons or technique orientated tuition to improve their dancing skills.

The dance school caters for a mixture of ages and dance styles with classes to suit pre-school age up to adult classes. Their aim is to offer excellent dance training and technique in a fun and sociable environment in classes such as: DISCO, FREESTYLE, STREET DANCE, ROCK N ROLL and LATIN AMERICAN, as well as Pre-School music and movement, holiday workshops, children's parties, QCA grade and professional training.

 

Our Mission

To provide excellent quality training for all ages in Dance and exercise through constant training and highly qualified staff. To grow and educate recognising current trends and allowing pupils to enjoy dancing in a safe environment.

All Dance-Beat staff have achieved a high level of training through guidance and are continually take professional examinations.

 

Our Reputation

Dance-Beat have an impeccable reputation spanning 16 years within the industry, but this has only been achieved by a continual acceptance and understanding of students and their expectations, staff and customer needs and the ability to adapt to changing times and ensure all classes are full of fun!

About DANCE-BEAT

Principal Amanda Hughes

Amanda Hughes is the principal and I.S.T.D Fellow and Examiner of Dance-Beat.

Following a successful professional dance career, Amanda channelled her own talents and experience to create a dynamic dance school to teach and nurture children (and now adults) of all age, shape and ability.

Dance-Beat were the FIRST pre-school music and movement class launched 15 years ago with Tiny Moves in conjunction with Welwyn and Hatfield Council.

As well as running a very busy dance school Amanda also does work for various community projects, including special needs, the over 50’s and pre-school classes.

Amanda is now a successful and well-known dance school operator, examiner, lecturer and choreographer and was awarded Finalist for ‘Business Person of the Year’ 2010 due to all her hard work and tremendous dedication.

Teachers

All teaching staff are highly qualified and experienced, such as Emerald Lutkin (pictured) who is the Streetdance teacher.

Trained under the guidance of Principal Amanda Hughes and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, staff carry out continued training to continue to offer excellent dance techniques to their students.

Laura Davies is an ISTD Associate and dance teacher of Dance-Beat.

Laura DaviesLaura has been dancing since the age of 8 and after competing in many competitions and taking part in shows she decided to develop her love of dancing by training as a dance teacher. Now Laura has gone on to develop her dance career by opening dance classes in Sandy, setting up afterschool clubs in Wheathampstead, developing dance classes in Hatfield and also running workshops for Local Councils. Laura is always improving her dance knowledge and new techniques to teach to her pupils and continues to pass on her love of dance.
