What can my child wear to Dance-Beat?

Initially sensible clothing for movement, i.e. leggings and a t-shirt. Foot wear should be bare feet or a soft shoe such as a plimsoll. When your child has settled in a uniform is required.

Do I have to pay for a full term straight away?

No, new starters can pay the weekly fee for 2 weeks and then the balance for the term is payable.

If we are short of funds at the beginning of a term are there other ways of paying?

Yes we do offer a flexible payment system for those who are having financial difficulties, please contact us for further details.

Can parents stay in the class?

In our experience the children are less distracted and more focused if parents don’t stay. However, for their first class, if the child is nervous then you are welcome to stay. If you are interested in what your child is learning in class then we offer the opportunity to come in and watch during our watching week at the end of every term.

What are the Medal Tests and do we have to take them?

Our Medal tests are a great way of progressing and the children really enjoy taking them.

Our Medal tests are taken with ISTD and can be taken under the following genres: Disco Freestyle, Rock and Roll, Street. These give children the chance to dance in front of an examiner and receive a grade. The children especially enjoy receiving the certificates and medals for these which are presented in class. However, medal tests are not compulsory and a missed medal will not mean that your child won’t move up with his/her friends.

It is my first Medal Test what do I have to do?

You will need to have a uniform, hair will have to be neatly tied up in a high ponytail (if long) and you will be given a time to arrive. On arrival you will be given a number and then will be taken by one of the teachers to warm-up. You will then go into the examination room with your dance teacher and dance your rehearsed dances for the examiner. Once you have completed your routines you will be asked to leave the examination room and you’ll receive your results in class roughly 6 weeks after the examination day.
